Looking back, there’s only been one post on here since May, and that was back in November.  An update is definitely overdue!  Since our last post, our customer base has increased significantly, sales have been growing, our representative RD Smith visited Baraka Orphanage in Kenya and reported back good news about growth, and we’ve been able to send more than $1000 over to help with the orphanage’s development.  You can check out our Facebook Pagefor pictures from RD.  Our Kenyan friend Charles assures us that the big building will be fully furnished this month, and some of the money we sent will go toward purchasing more land for agricultural and farming development.  As you can see from the picture in this post, there is a cow that customers from Baraka Gemstones and Jewelry helped to buy.  There are a few others roaming around a harvested corn field that we helped to plant.  We are so excited to be able to say that every dollar spent with Baraka Gemstones and Jewelry really DOES go to helping at Baraka Orphanage!  We are hoping to have the core facility built and secure in 2014 so that we can begin introducing kids into the program.  In future blog posts and newsletters we will share more about how things are coming together in Kosele, Kenya.
